Zombie/Monster Cupcakes

Not all of us want to eat treats made to look like cut off fingers, brain pudding or spiders for Halloween. That's great if that's your thing, but if you have younger kids, maybe you want to make slightly cuter goodies perhaps? Here are some great tips for these adorable zombie/monster cupcakes by my friend Sara K. The best part? You can let your kids help you with the decorating and it'd be a great, fun activity for them.

Back
It's as simple as this:

  • I found various sizes, shapes and colours of candies, black licorice string, all sorts of licorice, mini marshmallows etc. from a local bulkfood store
  • I baked the cupcakes by using a boxed white cake mix or you could make from scratch using a recipe for white cake batter
  • I let them cool completely
  • I made the frosting which was a basic butter cream: butter, icing sugar, milk, vanilla extract or you could use store brought creamy frosting
  • I split up the frosting equally into 3 portions, dyed them with neon bright coloured food colouring: Green, Purple and Pink
  • I generously frosted all the cupcakes and decorated them making adorable funny faces with crooked teeth, bulging eyes and even hair

That's it! Sara.

ENJOY!
