Home made Egg “McMuffin”

Who doesn’t love McDonalds greasy egg McMuffins. Mmmm. Well I don’t eat the bacon one and have only ever had the meat one in Dubai, and here I have to stick to having the egg and cheese sandwich because I don’t eat bacon. So one day I decided to make them myself some how. And it turned out to be really easy. Make these for your wife or husband on a Sunday morning and they will adore you! The recipe is based on 1 serving but I bet you will want another.

Back
What you need:

1 egg
A slice of cheddar cheese
An English breakfast muffin sliced in half
Some butter
Chicken Bacon, Turkey Bacon, or actual Bacon (smoked is better)
Salt & Pepper
A ring mold or a large round cookie cutter a can cut out at both ends

How to:

  1. Butter the sides of the ring mold, place in a warm non stick frying pan and break the egg directly into the ring mold. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  2. Pour hot water around the ring mold (1/2 cup to 1 cup) and cover the frying pan.
  3. In the meantime, fry/heat the bacon in a separate pan and toast the muffin halves on the same pan on the side or in a toaster
  4. Place the cheddar cheese slice on the breakfast muffin and have the bacon ready to place as well
  5. Check on the egg and touch lightly to see done-ness and once done, remove from the ring mold unto a plate then place on top of the cheese or on top of the bacon, whatever you prefer.
  6. Top with the other half of the breakfast muffin and you’re done!

Enjoy!
