I began making tangy minced beef like I always do. I needed some julienned ginger for it so I reached into the freezer and took out a Ziploc bag and sprinkled some onto the beef in the pot. As soon as I saw what I had done, I panicked. I had put slivered almonds into the dish instead of ginger. It was too late to do anything so I let it be. How did it turn out you ask? Well, try out the Tangy Almond Minced Beef and see- It was actually really good. It had a crunchy texture because of the almonds and had a kick to it because of the peppers. A.K
I really like kiwis but never thought to make a cake with them until I heard of a kiwi lemon cake. It sounded really nice, so I thought I would try an easy cake with kiwis and some cream cheese frosting I had at home. It looks very summery and pretty! It’s a bit sweet for me, but then I don’t like any cake with frosting personally- I know, I know- I’m an oddball. I am sure you guys will love it! Serve the cake cool with a cup of hot green tea.
My husband has always said that he dislikes chicken pot pies and never understood them, so I decided to make it a little differently and made a Tandoori Chicken Pot Pie for more flavour. Verdict? My husband couldn't get enough of it! I was so happy! He is officially a convert and loves chicken pot pie now! Here's the recipe! It is quite easy, just takes some time that's all. It cuts a lot easier when cold of course. W.P
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post for strumble & upside down cake, I had an excess of ripe plums and after eating about a dozen, giving away 2 dozen, and making 2 plum desserts, I had only a couple more left and I just could not eat any more whole, so I made plum lemonade. It’s really hot out, and this juice is so refreshing! I enjoyed mine while sitting on our balcony! We will be adding more drinks in our new beverages section every week! In the meantime, enjoy a refreshing a plumade! W.P
I went to the farmer’s market last weekend where a kind man literally pushed a crate of ripe plums into my hands to take home (for free) at the end of the day as he was packing up. Mind you this was after I had bought half a dozen plums earlier. I tried to say no but he insisted I take them ALL home. After sharing them with my parents and sister, I still had too many plums left so I started to think of ways to use all of them asides from eating them as is of course. Here are the recipes for Strumble (Strawberry & Plum Crumble) and Upside Down Plum Cake. Plumade (Plum Lemonade) coming up tomorrow! W.P
