Move over Butter Chicken and make way for the Vegetarian, Indulgent, Drool worthy Butter Paneer!12/15/2014 Creamy, velvety, melt in your mouth Murgh Makhani (aka Butter Chicken) is loved by all. It’s probably a dish most people have tried out. I personally prefer a vegetarian version a LOT more. Butter Paneer or Paneer Makhani! Oh man- is it delicious. The cubed paneer melts in your mouth and it’s oh so good. I have been making this for about 14 years but it’s definitely been through many changes over time. This is the final recipe that I have been using the last 3 years or so. I came up with the healthier milk version of this in university when I was cooking for my vegetarian best friend and he eventually learned to make it too (only took a decade!). It’s the recipe that convinced Andre that vegetarian food is awesome! Out of everything I cook, it’s his favourite dish. This recipe is the only one I held back from putting up on the site because it’s so dear to me and literally only 1 other person knows how to make it. But then I realised that I am (OBVIOUSLY) not someone who doesn’t share her recipes- I never have understood people who don’t share them- so here we go! I guarantee you that this will win over any guest! It’s mild, easy to make, and super indulgent. If you’re just making this for yourself, you may want to make a healthier version, so use milk instead of cream! Don’t skimp on the cream for guests though! Serve this with steamed basmati rice or naan.
