I have a smoothie in the morning almost every day. I sip it slowly as I start my morning. Perhaps it's my morning coffee lol! I do tend to keep making the same smoothies repeatedly though just because I like them. I stick to berries with water, milk or yoghurt, then I add in chia seeds and goji berries or cacao. Some times I do kale and apple with the addition of goji berries. But generally, I stick to the basics. So this chart will be great for me to look at when I wanna mix it up! Love it. Thanks Nida! W.P
P.S: This post should have gone up yesterday for Nida's Tuesday Tips! My apologies to those who were left without their weekly dose.
Sometimes smoothie "recipes" seem daunting, and figuring out what to mix and match with what can get overwhelming and downright annoying. Here is a chart that is easy to use and help you figure out a smoothie on the fly based on what you have at home. You will be inspired, trust me! Lately I have been adding a cacao and matcha powder blend. Cacao and matcha are both very powerful.
Matcha is high in antioxidants, loaded with Catechin, EGCg (Cancer fighting), boost memory & Concentration, enhances calm, increases energy, detoxifies, strengthens your immune system and improves cholesterol.
Cacao is full of flavonoids, which act as natural antioxidants, which protect the body from ageing and disease. Flavonoids prevent fat like substances in the bloodstream from oxidising and clogging the arteries. Cacao has also been found to help regulate blood pressure and reduce cholesterol. It is rich in magnesium, which most people lack in their diets or are deficient in these days. It also contains sulfur, important for strong nails, shiny hair and a healthy liver/pancreas.
