Mushroom Puffs

Serves 4 to 6

I love these! Such great hors d'oeuvres- inspired by something my friend Tatiana made back at UWO for my birthday. To be honest it’s so long ago, I don’t recall how she made them but I have been making these for a few years now and I change them now and then depending on my mood.  She is such a fabulous chef! Just spoke to her recently after years and mentioned that I still make these! Can’t wait to meet her again some time and get more recipes from her!

What you need:

1 sheet puff pastry (president's choice butter puff pastry is ideal)
2 cups mushrooms chopped roughly
1 tbsp butter
¼ cup chopped onions
½ tsp all spice (I use more typically)
1 tsp Italian spices
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste

How to:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. Fry all the ingredients till the mushrooms are browned and have shrunk and allow to cool
  3. Cut the rolled out puff pastry into equal pieces/squares and spoon the mushroom mixture unto the squares
  4. Close the puff pastry squares like little parcels
  5. Bake until golden brown
  6. Serve warm

ENJOY!
